E- Oncology
E-Oncology is about understanding and using data at the individual patient level. In that sense, it is larger that bio-informatics (which looks at genes or cells), but smaller than health services research, which looks at populations.
E-Oncology is about making better use of tools, and working with both technical and clinical experts to help deliver better clinical care. It is truly multi-disciplinary - cross boundaries within medicine and between medicine and a host of other disciplines.
It is still a young field, and will change over time, but we have gathered a selection of projects here to give you an idea of the sort of things we do.

MALTHUS is a tool for estimating radiotherapy demand in England. It uses Monte Carlo simulation, based on population characteristics and known patterns of care to estimate how much radiotherapy is likely to be needed for a population.
